Provide a systematic approach to managing security. SeMS provide a process for continuous improvement, seeking to proactively mitigate security risks before incidents occur.
Through the assessment of threats, identification of vulnerabilities, analysis & audit of security data and monitoring of past and future performance, an effective SeMS ensures information is communicated, staff are trained and that resources are being used appropriately. An effective SeMS is achieved through good governance and will demonstrate to a Government, a regulator or licensing authorities the commitment and ability to manage security risks.
Digital threats, changing criminal types, terrorist, extremists and protester tactics as well as ongoing political and environmental challenges requires security structures to have adaptable but structured operational procedures to mitigate existing and new emerging threats.
